Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke of insight
Brain researcher, Jill Bolte, moves me to tears whenever I watch the talk she gave, describing the moment she realised she was in the grip of stroke.
My eldest brother suffered a cataclysmic stroke in 2011 at the age of 49, and it is becoming clear to us now that he will never fully recover. He has been left severely disabled and, perhaps most cruelly, has been robbed of his ability to read and write. This is one of the most affecting things I have ever watched.
